A total of 840 pieces of equipment were delivered to the Josefina Aguirre Montenegro High School in Coyhaique.

At the Josefina Aguirre Montenegro High School in Coyhaique, computers were delivered to students from the commune as part of the delivery of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) scholarships to seventh grade students from establishments dependent on the Local Public Education Service (SLEP).

The regional presidential delegate of Aysén, Rodrigo Araya, and the regional director of Junaeb, Manuel Vivar, were present at the delivery of the computers. On this occasion, a total of 840 computers were delivered to students from the entire region.

Araya said that it is a necessary tool for all students to be able to access different forms of education, information and research, because technology is constantly changing.

“A significant effort is being made to ensure that students receive this computer and can begin to use it to support their educational processes,” said Rodrigo Araya, highlighting the importance of these incentives for the educational processes of girls, boys and adolescents.

Manuel Vivar explained that it is a very relevant program and a fundamental tool for students to access more opportunities and have more tools, considering that technology is an increasingly important issue for their educational processes.

A contribution

The students appreciated the equipment. “It is very good that they deliver computers to the children, so that it is easier for them to study and do homework, among other things like that,” said a student from the Pedro Quintana Mansilla school.

Likewise, one of the parents of the Nieves del Sur school, Rosa Ruiz, commented on the importance of these devices. “I am very happy, because Benjamín did not have a computer and it is very useful for his studies, because today everything is done with a computer, so I am very grateful for everything,” she said.

The new computers incorporate for the first time an Intel processor and a 128 GB solid hard drive, which will allow you to work simultaneously and with greater speed in several applications and not reduce the operation of the equipment.

This year, the notebooks are much lighter and therefore much easier to transport, weighing just over 1.3 kg, going from having an HD screen to Full HD, as well as a free internet connection for 12 months.

In addition, more than two thousand technological sets will be provided for students with special educational needs, so that they can learn more effectively, communicate better and integrate into the classroom with their peers on equal terms.
