Quito, Jun 27 (EFE) (Images: Juan Francisco Chávez).- A sit-in called by family and friends of Fernando Villavicencio demanded justice on Thursday in Quito for his murder, which occurred in August of last year, when the presidential candidate was gunned down by Colombian hitmen as he left a political rally, eleven days before the extraordinary general elections. The protest took place in front of the Northern Judicial Complex in Quito, where the trial for this crime began on Tuesday, in which five people are accused, including Carlos Angulo (‘El Invisible’), the alleged indirect author (with control of the event) of the attack, identified by the Ecuadorian authorities as the leader of a faction of the criminal gang Los Lobos.
