The government and the Los Colorados cooperative renewed the tourism agreement

Minister Gustavo Luna and the mayor of Independencia department, Claudio Akiki, visited Los Colorados Provincial Park to sign the extension of the agreement with the 18 members of the cooperative that operates the tourist circuit whose main attractions are the Chacho Peñaloza refuge, the Farallones and the Natural Bridge.

Currently, the El Chacho Ltda. cooperative, made up exclusively of inhabitants of this town in the Independencia department located 100 km from the city of La Rioja, provides a guide service and tour by all-terrain vehicle or bicycle through this natural and archaeological wonder. from the center of the province.

The product is generated thanks to an agreement with the Chileciteña agency Salir del Cráter, coordinating the logistics so that Argentine and foreign tourists can tour the Park and have access to services within the premises.

“This monthly contribution made by the Province for the operation of the tourism product means a direct benefit for the entire community of Los Colorados, a unique place with enormous potential for its development,” said Minister Gustavo Luna.

For her part, Natalia Perafán, president of the El Chacho cooperative, thanked the authorities for this contribution, pointing out that this undertaking “has changed the quality of life of the residents; this work makes us stay here to defend this place and put it on the map of La Rioja. The best we can show is that we are an organized community that works committed to this endeavor.

The ride in the all-terrain truck for 21 people has a journey that lasts 2 and a half hours, and the price is 18,000 pesos per person (50% discount for visitors from Rioja). To make the journey by bicycle, the cost per person is 10,000 pesos. The place has a food service and cafeteria, which are also managed by the residents of Los Colorados themselves.
