The goal is to comply with Decree 1769 of 1994, which establishes that 5% of the income budgeted by the ESE must be allocated to hospital maintenance and infrastructure.

Tunja, June 27, 2024. (UACP). The Boyacá Health Department, through the Service Provision Directorate, led by Sonia Yanneth Manrique Hurtado, with the support of the Hospital Maintenance Group of that sector, organized a training workshop on hospital maintenance management.

This initiative aims to comply with Decree 1769 of 1994 and Sole Circular 029 of 1997.

Manrique Hurtado explained that the training is aimed at managers, treasurers and maintenance leaders of the Health Services Providing Institutions (IPS) of the Boyacá public network.

During the day, topics related to hospital maintenance management were addressed, highlighting the importance of allocating 5% of total income for this purpose, as established by Decree 1769.

This allocation of resources seeks to guarantee optimal conditions and quality in the provision of health services.

In addition, the importance of maintaining adequate infrastructure and equipment to provide good service to users was emphasized.

This effort must be coordinated between the department and the IPS to ensure clarity and precision in the execution of hospital maintenance plans.
