After almost a month of postponing the election of authorities following the observations of Legal Personhood, the San Juan College of Magistrates decided by majority that List 1, headed by Ana Lía Larrea, continues to lead the institution. In this way, the ruling party managed to defeat the list led by Adriana Tettamanti after a day of more than seven hours during which the election lasted. There was record participation and three ministers of the Court of Justice even voted.

After seven hours of voting, the process began at noon and lasted until 7 p.m. The final count, which ended around 8 p.m. on Thursday, showed that the ruling party obtained 86 votes against 52 for the opposition. That is to say, the majority of the 139 who went to vote chose the option headed by Ana Lía Larrea and Carlos Fernández Collado.

After Amanda Díaz, civil judge, announced the official results, the winning list celebrated the result and quickly received congratulations from the contenders. Among the celebrations, the winners celebrated the high participation of the total list of qualified candidates, since they warned that the overwhelming result legitimizes the continuity of those who had been leading the College of Magistrates.

Now it will be time for the winning list to be made official and immediately assume leadership because as of next week the College of Magistrates must have new authorities proclaimed to respect the deadlines imposed by the Legal Entity a month ago.

What the protagonists said

Ana Lía Larrea was elected to continue a new term at the head of the College of Magistrates and as soon as she learned the official data she said that “I am excited after many days of work and tension due to the election.”

“Clearly, the partners observed that what we did in the first mandate must have continuity,” he stated and added that “I offered Adriana Tettamanti that we meet in the coming days to find a way to work together for the institution.” , closed amidst the celebrations with his fellow list members.

The other side of the coin, of course, was Tettamanti, who, knowing full well that she accepted the result, criticized that “the recount was not authorized to be open to all those involved.” Similarly, the head of the Administrative Litigation Office acknowledged that “the representatives of the two lists were present and there were no observations of any kind.”

Regarding Larrea’s invitation, Tettamanti said that “I will think about it in the next few days because the truth is that we have two very different visions of what we want for the College of Magistrates. Today I find it difficult to see how we can agree on a point in common with List 1.”

The shortcuts who voted

One of the outstanding facts is that in the historic day that took place in the College of Magistrates, three ministers of the San Juan Court of Justice went to vote. Marcelo Lima, Juan José Victoria and Daniel Olivares Yapur are those who joined as partners to elect one of the lists.

This generated criticism from Adriana Tettamanti, head of List 2, who said that “I consider that the ministers should not be associated because the College tends to defend the magistrates and in general always due to decisions made by the Court in the exercise of its powers. of superintendence.”
