The Attorney General’s Office assumes preferential power in defense of the rights of students allegedly harassed and abused by a teacher from El Tambo, Cauca

The entity seeks to guarantee the rights to dignity, integrity and free development of the personality and sexuality of girls.


In exercise of preferential disciplinary power, the Attorney General’s Office assumed the investigation against the teacher of the Seguengue Educational Institution of El Tambo, Cauca, Leodán Gómez Rosero, for possible continued conduct against the freedom and sexual training of three students since 2019.

The process carried out by the Office of Internal Disciplinary Control of the Government was assumed by the Regional Prosecutor’s Office of Instruction of Cauca to guarantee the rights to dignity, integrity and free development of the personality and sexuality of girls.

The facts under investigation were reported by parents and students who had been affected by the alleged sexual abuse and harassment displayed by the teacher.

The Public Prosecutor’s Office has requested that the Attorney General’s Office provide information and send a copy of any action it is taking regarding the process of restoring the rights of the minors in order to include them in the disciplinary process.

Finally, the control entity decreed the practice of documentary and testimonial evidence that makes it possible to clarify the occurrence of the reported events.
