During the extensive session in Chamber of Deputies where the discussion is made Law Bases and the fiscal packagethe chubutense Jorge Avila (We make Federal Coalition) said he would vote against the Income Tax, especially for the oil tankers. In fact, he warned that “as soon as we have the first discount, we are going to stop all activity.”

The Patagonian deputy began by saying that “it is a difficult time for workers” and attacked the governors who agreed with their deputies to vote in favor of the restitution of profits: “Without a doubt it will break a social peace that was built during many years”.

In this regard, he stated that “I, in defense of ChubutUnder no circumstances can I allow an oil worker to be forced to pay for the mere fact of working. Because here the workers are those from the countryside, those who today are abandoned and thrown away.”

“The capitals that it has Neuquen, I wonder where the workers will be with what we have approved. We cannot and will not accept under any circumstances any agreement that allows us to pay Profits again, after the long fights and struggles that we have had, not with this government, but with the previous ones,” he said.

After stressing that he will vote against the initiative, he warned: “Of course we are going to fight. Do they think we are going to give them the Income Tax? They are wrong. As soon as we get the first discount, we are going to stop all activity in the country.”

He stated that “not only will it stop what is Chubut, I assure you that everyone is going to stop, the refinery, the distilleries that we have and, above all, Neuquén. Because this cannot happen in a country where there is fighting every day.”

Ávila complained that “we already pay for imports and on top of that we are going to give the governors a favor so that they can have a better life in their place of origin by taking money from workers in different sectors.” In that vein, he said: “If we are not afraid of the cold, fear of death, fear of frost, have no doubt that we are not going to be afraid of this government.”
