The president of Bolivia, Luis Arce, expressed this Thursday gratitude to his Cuban counterpart, Miguel Díaz-Canel, for the support expressed during the failed coup attempt this Wednesday.
“We express our sincere gratitude to the brother president of Cuba, @DiazCanelB, who has condemned the failed coup d’état and has expressed his support for democracy and the Bolivian people,” wrote the dignitary on his X account (formerly Twitter).
Díaz-Canel repudiated the coup attempt and extended the full solidarity of the Cuban government and people to the sister South American nation.
In his X account, the president denounced signs of possible military action against the Constitution of the Plurinational State of Bolivia, which would have serious consequences.
In his message he rejected attempts to subvert the popular will and expressed his support for President Arce.
“The attack on democracy and the Bolivian people shown in the images of international media this afternoon in Bolivia is outrageous,” said the Cuban president.
