A Bola: Fonseca recruits new Match Analyst for his staff at Milan – the details

Paulo Fonseca was announced as the new head coach of AC Milan earlier this month and while some of his support staff will remain the same, a report has claimed that there will be a new entry.

According to A Bola (via MilanNews), the new boss will rely on his trusted assistant Paulo Ferreira, a former defender who is best known for his trophy-laden spells with Porto and Chelsea and who joined up with Fonseca last season in Lille.

In addition to Ferreira, it is confirmed that Fonseca will bring Tiago Leal with him, who provides fundamental support on the tactical side, and Paulo Mourao who is the former athletic trainer for Vitoria Guimaraes, Benfica, Al Nassr and Spartak Moscow.

However, there will be a new entry into his staff for his new adventure in Milan: Nélson Diogo Duarte, a Match Analyst who in recent seasons has worked in Portugal at Estoril alongside Vasco Seabra. The new Milan coach wanted him strongly and will entrust him with performance analysis.

Not much is known about Duarte but he has a rather significant career behind him despite being only 32 years of age. From 2018 to 2020, for example, he was part of Sergio Conceiçao’s staff at Porto (the Portuguese coach was also linked to Milan), while he worked at Boavista and Marítimo before Estoril.
