Santa Fe College of Speech Therapists Discontent with Iapos: “Payments are increasingly delayed”

The president of the College of Speech Therapists of Santa Fe, Adriana Ávalos, announced that Services for Iapos beneficiaries are in dangerSpeaking to “Ahí Vamos” on UNO 106.3, the head of the organization detailed the conflicts that undermined the relationship with the social work.

“Payments are increasingly late”, he stated in a tone of discontent, revealing that only last Wednesday they received the payment for the month of March. A delay that is already becoming a bitter routine.

But the problems do not finish there. The difference between the national tariff and what Iapos actually pays is abysmal, exceeding 50%. “This month the established amount is $12,000, but Iapos paid us only $5,000 in March. “We have now received an increase to $7,000, but it is still very low,” said Ávalos, revealing the deep dissatisfaction of the sector.

Iapos’s answers

“In the month of April we met with Luis Asas, vice director of Iapos, it was really very pleasant to be able to meet and discuss our situation, but well, unfortunately “it was all promises,” explained the representative of the College of Speech Therapists.

The president revealed that “a lot of strategies have been carried out to save this situation.”

Regarding rumors of cutting benefits, Ávalos said: “We reached this extreme situation of having to decide to suspend care. If we did not receive payment as of Monday, July 1, we had to suspend care for our patients. Payment We received it yesterday, therefore we are not going to suspend it. We have to reach this situation of threats so that Iapos respond to us“.

On the other hand, he explained that a new conflict is coming and said: “Now on June 30 we must receive the payment for the month of April and yesterday we received the payment for March. It will be impossible for us to receive that payment again on Monday.” we’re going to have a delay of much more than sixty days and the contract that we have with Iapos establishes that payment must be made within forty-five days.”

Mobilization

The president spoke specifically about the benefits related to those that are the responsibility of the College, however she said: “It is all professions that are affectedall professions that work with disabilities: Kinesiologists, occupational therapists, nutritionists, psychopedagogues, psychologists.”

In this sense, he assured thatProfessionals from different disciplines have organized a mobilization for the 4th of July at 10:00 to the Iapos gate. “If the delay becomes so persistent again, we will take other measures, because we really cannot sustain our work with this delay,” said Ávalos.

Finally, he reflected: “In addition, regarding Iapos we have many difficulties, it is not only the delay in payment, it is not only the very low tariff, but we have many situations of debits on our billings and we have Many difficulties in authorizing treatments and our treatments are used on an annual basis“.
