A 43-year-old man was sentenced to three years in prison for committing a robbery on a public street in the city of Santa Fe.

The sentence for Jorge Roque Bugliolo was ordered by Judge Jorge Patrizi, within the framework of a trial in which the procedures were shortened. It took place in the courts of the provincial capital.

The prosecutor who conducted the investigation is Eric Fernández, who pointed out that “based on a criminal record, Bugliolo was declared a repeat offender.”

Bugliolo admitted his criminal responsibility as the author of “robbery qualified by having been committed in a populated area and in a gang.” Meanwhile, his defense accepted the criminal attribution, the sentence imposed and the decision to shorten the trial proceedings.

The illegal act under investigation was committed minutes before 11:30 p.m. on Monday, January 22 of this year, near the corner of La Rioja and 25 de Mayo.

“Bugliolo carried out his criminal act together with two other people: a man identified as Alejandro Maza, who was sentenced to three years of conditional imprisonment in another abbreviated trial; and a third co-author who has already been charged and is moving forward with an abbreviated trial for the imposition of a sentence,” the prosecutor said.

“The men involved arrived at the scene aboard a Chevrolet Tracker model truck from which Bugliolo and one of his companions got out,” Fernández said.

“While the other member of the gang was waiting for them in the vehicle, they intercepted a woman who was walking on the public road, pushed her and made her fall to the ground in order to rob her,” he said.

“Thus, they stole a cell phone and a wallet containing personal documents and cash,” he specified.

He also stated that “although the attackers fled after taking the property, they were arrested that same night with the victim’s belongings in their possession,” and he assessed that “the woman was able to recover her belongings.”
