The work of the Villa Clara cultural centre system was praised by Diango González Guerra, president of the National Council of Cultural Centres (CNCC), during his recent visit to this province in the centre of the country.

The head of the institution stated that regarding the work of the cultural houses in Santa Clara, the municipality he visited, specifically, the organization and seriousness could be evident “as the province of Villa Clara always does.”

«It is a good result of the system based on a validated experience in that territory where activities with very good quality occur every year from our movement of amateur artists. Above all, the design of the programming, the actions and services provided in our cultural houses. For us, Villa Clara is a flagship province in which we think when experimenting with any good idea that arises to perfect the work of the culture houses system,” he explained.

Regarding the projections and strategies for the summer season in Villa Clara, González Guerra commented that it was not exempt from being a mainstay, based on the new developments that the province and the main municipality have designed for this summer season.

«As the slogan Cuba in summer mode says, so will our communities and institutions that are already working on it with all organized work with the communities, not only those that are undergoing transformation but all of those that we will be reaching. . It also includes homes for children without family protection, nursing and maternity homes, grandparents’ homes, as well as a group of institutions that are part of the priorities.

“The actions that Villa Clara has brought to fruition this summer are accompanied by an excellent communication strategy. It is very important that we can communicate in real time on the different platforms, on sites, on (digital) pages, in the written press, alternative and traditional media, so that the programming is known so that our citizens know the offers from the cultural sector and from the rest of the organizations that provide a service to the community during this period,” he pointed out.

The president of the CNCC argued that the school remains the epicenter and leading institution in the work that will be developed during the summer, with the support of our cultural promoters, art instructors, amateur artists movement, professional talent, and a whole range of options in the communities and neighborhoods.

On the other hand, he pointed out that the province has not worked on a design unrelated to the energy conditions that our country presents today, which is why a programming design has been made that not only takes into account the carrying out of activities in closed spaces but also open, that do not generate electricity, climate and lighting costs. He invited actions to be carried out from a totally community profile and included in the projections for the summer the impact that the territory may have.

“We have come to the conception, the concept, the principle that activities are not suspended but postponed, in the event that they cannot be carried out at the scheduled time due to energy issues. (The idea) is not to leave the community waiting for that much-needed space,” he emphasized.

González Guerra commented that in the midst of the situation that the country is facing, cultural centers continue to play a leading role and are increasingly necessary because “it is the institution in the sector closest to the community” because it is the one that the people observe and enjoy day after day.

«That is why we have the great challenge of rethinking how to do things better, how to make a diagnosis, how to work on our quality cultural programming that responds to the tastes and preferences of the communities. We are obliged to perfect and update our diagnoses, especially in a province like Villa Clara, with a high presence of elderly people.

«In the exchange held in the territory we emphasized that programming must resemble its audiences, for whom we have the honorable mission of gladdening their hearts and working for them, as our president (Miguel Díaz Canel) has asked us, with the spirituality of people,” he concluded.
