Engineer Giovanny Riveros, Manager of the firm Smart Planning Proyect SA as contractor, provided details of the contract for the repair of the traffic light system in San José del Guaviare, regarding this he expressed that the contract was only for the improvement of existing intersections with traffic lights.
Corrective maintenance is one of the systems that was within the contract and the commitment to care for this equipment, indicated that the only provision of new equipment was the pedestrian controller traffic lights that are in operation.
Regarding the paintings of the signs and zebras, he assures that the climatic conditions are not favorable to carry out works, especially those related to painting due to the various soil conditions. The guarantees will remain until December 2024
He assured that fluctuations in electrical service have been the real causes of the constant failures in the service. Under warranty, three modules that were faulty are being repaired and are in the process, but he assured that if the administration intervenes in the traffic light system, the warranty is immediately broken, referring to the pedestrian traffic lights.
He reiterated that the system protection must be guaranteed with UPS or cabling that guarantees a control backup, stating that this recommendation was already made with the current administration. Therefore, he recommended that the Mayor’s Office should create a maintenance plan in which expert personnel would be hired to carry out the repairs.
