The Governor of Buenos Aires, Axel Kicillofmet with his counterpart from La Pampa, Sergio Ziliotto, and signed a cooperation agreement between the provinces in order to improve health, education, safety and work benefits in both provinces. Furthermore, they agreed on the “defense of federalism.”

“These agreements that we have signed are the result of work that we have developed over a long period of time to consolidate and provide greater institutionality to the cooperation between both provinces,” he added. Kicillof He clarified that “although these types of agreements are always necessary, today they contrast and look much more because we are going through a very complicated stage, in which the national government despises federalism and deserts its responsibilities.”
“After the approval of an aberrant law such as the Bases Law, which does not bring anything good for our country, we will deepen joint work with the provinces because federalism is not optional: we are here because we swear to comply with and enforce the National Constitution” , he concluded.
For its part, Sergio Ziliotto He assured: “Today there is an anti-rights advance, of concentration of wealth and impoverishment of the majority of Argentine society. If there is something that we will never change, it is the convictions for which we always fight, and in this sense this agreement is to give institutionality to a work that we have been doing for a long time. The defense of those who have less and the defense of federalism, something that we have not only been declaiming, but also putting into practice.
“This meeting is about ratifying federalism, that federalism which is one of the State policies of that political model enshrined in the National Constitution and which is one of the aspects that the national government has taken as an enemy. That direct phrase of ‘I am going to destroy the provinces’ is not only a threat, but is now a reality and unfortunately the national government has the political support, through the National Congress, to carry out those less federal policies,” he concluded.
