Medellin, Antioquia

The Transit and Transportation authorities and the Infrastructure Secretariat of Antioquia continue working to enable the road corridors that register closures and restrictions due to mass movements and rockfall as a result of heavy rains.

The total closures that are currently registered are in the so-called via the sea, in the La Charquina sector, between Santa fe de Antioquia and Dabeiba, where rock and material falls have been recorded. The alternative route to get to Urabá is Medellín – Caucasia – Montería.

There’s also Total closure on the Santa Fe de Antioquia – Bolombolo road, due to the work with heavy machinery that is being carried out in at least 4 points:

  • Km 33+100 Crab sector
  • Km 52+200 Higuina sector
  • Km 55+500 Higuina sector
  • Km 57+700 Higuina sector

The alternate route is Santa Fe de Antioquia – Medellín Caldas – Bolombolo.

On the Hatillo – Llanos de Cuivá roads, in the north of the department; and Santa Fe de Antioquia – Medellín, in the west; One lane has already been opened and traffic personnel are regulating traffic.

The Bolombolo – Peñalisa road has already been reopened, as confirmed by the Traffic and Transportation Police.

The Government of Antioquia also confirmed that There are at least 76 critical points in the department, especially on secondary roads, which are distributed with crews distributed as follows:

  • 7 in the north.
  • 5 in the northeast.
  • 2 in the Lower Cauca.
  • 2 in the Middle Magdalena.
