‘Emprenda Mano’, a showcase of growth and inspiration for entrepreneurs in Bucaramanga

On June 27, the second version of the ‘Emprendamano Night: Tell the story!’ event was held, which included the participation of migrant and Bumanguese entrepreneurs with the aim of creating a community of opportunities for entrepreneurship without borders in Santander, Colombia..

“This is an event held by entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs,” describes Christian Vera, manager and creator of this event, which aims to stimulate creativity and the exchange of ideas. Attendees had the opportunity to hear success stories, share their own experiences and network.

“The importance of this space for entrepreneurs, especially for the migrant population, is the visibility because the migrant population also comes to contribute to the cities and we are looking for those people who are breaking it in Santander and who are giving us those spaces, not only to undertake, but to generate employment,” Vera added.

More than 370 people, including organizations, businessmen, entrepreneurs, students and other interested parties, attended the event, which was divided into three parts. The first, called ‘Háblelo’, featured the participation of Sebastián Ospina López, known as ‘Tatánfue’, a social communicator and content creator, who shared his life story and experiences in communication through social networks. “If you know how to do something, sow it a lot, because if you sow it in others, they become mobile showcases of your talent and all of that comes back to you,” said Ospina during his speech.

Furthermore, the project ‘Opportunities Without Borders’ from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) The event was attended during the evening by the special participation of César Omar Villaquirán, CEO of UP Studio arq, who shared his achievements as a migrant entrepreneur in Colombia. “These types of spaces are very important for entrepreneurs in general, and for me it is a great opportunity to tell my story: how I came to Colombia, how the country treated me and all the opportunities it has given me through organizations such as USAID and the Chamber of Commerce. Likewise, if there are people thinking of starting a business, may my story be an inspiration and encourage them to do it,” said Villaquirán.

The second moment, known as ‘La Gallera’, consisted of a space where three ventures from the food sector (La Palette, Mr. Happy Ice Cream and Creamery Ice Cream Shop) They participated in a battle of ideas. Each one had the opportunity to present the difficulties, overcomings and lessons learned on their entrepreneurial path.

The cultural component of the event was provided by the Muérganos Impro theatre group, which performed at the opening of the space, and the lyrical battles between the stories of ‘La Gallera’, with invited urban artists such as Jhoan Acosta “Big Nigga”, Manuel Urquijo “Lord Cyborg”, Camilo Colmenares “El Gordo Ares”, Sebastián Gallo “Tales” and Esteban Ramírez “Ratamirez”.

Finally, in the final moment called ‘Get Involved’, attendees voted for the most inspiring story that had the greatest impact on them. ‘Creamery Heladería’ was chosen as the winner of this segment. The event closed with a networking space, where attendees were able to exchange ideas and receive feedback.
