The first robbery occurred around 1:50 p.m. A 37-year-old man, who was enjoying his lunch on the premises, was surprised by the alleged criminal who, using threats with a firearm, stole his cell phone before fleeing the scene.
The second assault occurred approximately two hours later, at 3:40 p.m. A 17-year-old couple walking in the same area was approached by the same subject. Again, the subject used a firearm to intimidate the victims and steal from them their cell phones.
Alerted by the victims of the second heistthe police officers deployed in the area managed to identify and capture the suspect near the intersection of Calle Soldado Desconocido and Acceso Este, thanks to the detailed description provided by the couple.
During the search, the police found a revolver and three cell phones, one of which belonged to the man assaulted during the first incident. He arrestedalong with the weapon and the recovered phones, was placed at the disposal of Prosecutor’s Office No. 8 of the 25th Police Station.
