In June 2024, the Social Security Institute (IPS) revalidated the monthly distribution of the Universal Guaranteed Pension, an economic benefit aimed at older adults living in Chile.

This support allows People over 65 years of age receive more than $200,000 each month.

What are the requirements to access the Universal Guaranteed Pension?

To access payments for this benefit, People must meet four conditions established by the State:

  • Have, at a minimum, 65 years old.
  • Not belonging to a family group in the richest 10% of the population, according to the Social Household Registry.
  • Prove residence in Chile for at least 20 continuous or discontinuous years.
  • Have a base pension less than the maximum pension determined by the regulations for this benefit (less than $1,158,355).

How to apply for the Universal Guaranteed Pension

Until June 2024, there are three established methods To request the Universal Guaranteed Pension:

APPLICATION FORM STEP BY STEP
By Internet Enter the IPS website and Select “Universal Guaranteed Pension, Solidarity Pillar and Child Bonus”. Enter your Unique Key and complete the application form.
Video call Visit the Chileatiende or IPS sites and Select “Video care””. When they answer your call, indicate that you want to apply for this pension. You can do this from Monday to Friday, between 08:00 and 17:00 hours.
In person Visit the Chile Atiende branches, municipalities, AFPs or insurance companies (only if the person is affiliated with one of these private entities) and explain the reason for your inquiry.
