The tenth decentralized public hearing of the Commission for Social Inclusion and People with Disabilities and the VIII Binational Education Campaign on the Risk of Antipersonnel Mines were held in the province of Condorcanqui, department of Amazonas, with the aim of addressing the demands of the population.

At the beginning, the president of the commission, Kira Alcarraz Agüero (Podemos Perú), said that this hearing will allow us to observe and listen to the needs of those who, in addition to being affected by territorial remoteness and extreme poverty, suffer from the indifference of their authorities.

She also said that they cannot remain indifferent to problems such as illegal mining, limited access to justice, and sexual violence against children and women, which must be addressed immediately.

“We have a commitment with some ministries to return in 15 days, taking today’s problems to bring results. The idea is to listen and return, not for it to be a passing visit,” said the parliamentarian.

On this occasion, there were Luz Maribel Pumaricra Cardozo, mayor (e) of the Provincial Municipality of Condorcanqui; David César Fernández Fernández, representative of the Security and Defense Directorate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Jenny Núñez Marín, Social Development Manager of the Regional Government of Amazonas.

Georgina Valentín Rojas, executive director of the Directorate of Prevention and Control of Disability of the Ministry of Health, also participated; Julio Zumaeta, director of Public Defense and Access to Justice of Amazonas of the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights and José Peralta Navarrete, representative of CONADIS and the Ministry of Women and Vulnerable Populations.
