The councilor Maru Castrois the new president of the San Luis Potosí Building Commission for Drinking Water, Sewage and Sanitation; This, with the unanimous support of the capital city council, who validated the restructuring of said commission, also appointing the councilor as secretary. Aurora Zamora Vázquez.

Maru Castro will immediately join the INTERAPAS Governing Board, where operational aspects of the provision of services in the metropolitan area, citizen care and financial statements of the inter-municipal organization are analyzed, discussed and approved.

Among the main tasks that Maru Castro will coordinate will be the monitoring of the performance of the new Municipal Water Directorate, attached to the San Luis Potosí City Councilwith the aim of ensuring that the citizens of Potosí have vital liquid in a time of water stress and drought that is currently being experienced.

In this regard, Maru Castro commented that, “working for water security is an urgent technical and social issue that must be kept away from politicization and polarization of positions and increasingly closer to institutionality and consistency.”

He pointed out that it is a priority to provide a quality service, and that, in addition to relocating water in wells in our city, it is also a priority to concentrate efforts on treatment plants, pipelines, drinking water lines and other infrastructure that, then, reflect peace and tranquility for the families of Potosí.
