On the occasion of Star Wars Day, A new trailer for The Acolyte has been released, the next series in the franchise, has seen the light to anticipate the next danger that the Jedi will have to face. The new story is truly set long before the prequel trilogy, as it travels in the past to the time of the High Republic, when the Jedi have no opposition. However, in a time of change with the end of his reign, dark forces approach.

In the latest trailer for the series, a revealing red lightsaber shows how in this era The Sith are more legend than reality. However, all the Jedi are horrified by the discovery of their existence, while something haunts many characters at a time when everything could go out of control.

The Acolyte will have eight episodes starring Amanda Stenberg, the mythical Rue from The Hunger Games, turned into a young former Padawan who reunites with her Jedi Master to investigate a series of crimes. The other protagonist of this story is Lee Jung-jaethe star of The Squid Game, who for his part will be a Jedi Master, while Joonas Suotamo, better known as Chewbacca, will now play a Wookiee Jedi called Kelnacca. Also in the cast will be Jodie Turner-Smith, Manny Jacinto and Charlie Barnett.
