James Ward Byrkit has announced other projects in this decade without them being made, will they ever be released?
In 2013 it premiered Coherence, a film made for $50,000 that has ended up becoming one of the great milestones of the science fiction genre. Its director, James Ward Byrkit, gave us a fascinating story in which a group of friends began to experience strange events after the passage of a comet. It was his film debut and it left no one indifferent. It’s been 10 years and we’re still waiting for Ward Byrkit to return to the director’s chair.
And it won’t be because he hasn’t tried. Byrkit has surprised us with some projects this decade, but none of them have come to fruition. The last one was announced just a week ago and, on this occasion, few details are known about it..
ON last May 28 deadline announced that Byrkit, along with producer Kate Andrews, They were working on a movie that will follow Coherence. Plot details are being kept under lock and key, including whether the new film will be a prequel, a sequel, or a completely different story. Byrkit will helm as director and will also write the script with his co-writer Alex Manugian, with whom he previously worked on the original film.

Critics called it “a fun and intriguing psychological game,” something that couldn’t be more fitting with the Ward Byrkit style we have in mind.
Like Coherence, promises a plot concentrated in a single space that is driven by script twists and the gratifying feeling in the viewer of not knowing very well what is happening. And, although the announcement was very well received, it seems that we are going to have to wait patiently for it to develop, if it ever happens.
