The leading actor is signing for other projects that seem to complicate the filming schedule
It has happened only once in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe –Inhuman-, but everything indicates that one of the films announced by the studio is not going to come true. In 2019, Kevin Feige confirmed that they were developing Blade, the ‘reboot’ about the famous vampire hunter. Mahershala Ali is chosen to play the protagonist, thus taking over from Wesley Snipes.
Five years have passed since Blade was announced and, although there has been some good news, the latest information, for the umpteenth time, points to the worst. Continuing with tradition, Yann Demange has left the film’s director’s chair. The director replaced Bassam Tariq, who was going to be behind the cameras of the project but also said goodbye.
Directors aren’t the only ones getting out of the way. Blade. The film has had four scriptwriters and the last to join the project is Eric Pearson.

Some actors have also stopped being part of the cast of Blade. Aaron Pierre confirmed in March that he was no longer on board the film. For now, Ali is still involved in giving life to Eric Brooksbut the actor has signed on for more projects that make filming difficult. Jurassic World 4 plans to start production in June and Blade he had planned his in the fall.

“Mahershala Ali will join the next Jurassic World and will lead Blade…someday,” says Ali’s lawyer in THR. “The agreement was made in 2019 and they still haven’t filmed it, which is the craziest thing in my entire professional experience”. Even Snipes himself has reacted to what is happening with the project. “They’re still looking for the secret sauce”, says the actor on Twitter. “Day walkers make it look easy, right?”
The movie that hasn’t caused so many problems is Deadpool and Wolverinethe next installment of the Phase 5 of the UCM. Ryan Reynolds gets back into the skin of Wade Wilson, known as the Mercenary with a Mouth. Hugh Jackman, for his part, returns as Wolverine. Shawn Levy steps behind the cameras of the film, which hits theaters on July 25.
