Hugh Grant is scarier than ever alongside the writers of ‘A Quiet Place’

Although Hugh grant He is a more versatile actor than he seems, horror is not his favorite genre. In fact, a look at his filmography reveals that the protagonist of Four Weddings and a Funeral He hasn’t participated in a horror movie for a whopping 36 years… and his latest foray (The lair of the white worm, 1988) was more of a mess of those that people liked to film Ken Russell.

But, over time, everything changes. And even more so if a production company as prestigious as A24 and two authors like Scott Beck and Brian Woods, the creators of A peaceful place. Thanks to this sum of factors, Heretic It will present us with a Grant more terrifying than ever in a murky story of religion and psychopathy.

First trailer for ‘Heretic’, with Hugh Grant

Sophie Thatcher (Yellowjackets) and Chloe East (The Fabelmans) They are the two victims of Hugh Grant in the film. And that, at first, it seems that the unfortunate one is going to be him, since the girls play two mormon missionaries who knock on the door of his house ready to give him the turra for the sake of his eternal salvation.

Nothing is as it seems in this story, however: after having gotten the girls to cross his threshold, Grant’s character begins to subject them to those who seem sinister trials based on the strength of your faith. To make matters worse, the house turns out to be a labyrinth full of deadly traps. And, furthermore, what does that model look like where all the rooms appear replicated to scale?

After this first look, anyone would think that Beck and Woods have imagined a religious version of ‘Saw’. But we should not expect anything except one thing: that Heretic is more interesting than 65, the science-fiction film with dinosaurs and time paradoxes directed by the duo with Adam Driver of protagonist. Let us pray to the Lord…
