Deadpool could cross paths with another MCU star

Shawn Levy reveals the MCU hero he would like to be with Deadpool will form a team in some future project in the saga.

There are only a few weeks until Marvel Studios’ first film, and the only one of 2024, finally hits theaters. Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman will make their debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as two of the most popular mutants of this millennium, marking a before and after for the Disney franchise.

Beyond the excitement that fans feel about the introduction of these two characters into the MCU, one of the things that generates the most anticipation is what they can generate in the future, and what other already established characters they could cross paths with.

While we may see Reynolds’ Wade Wilson, and perhaps Jackman’s Wolverine in one of the franchise’s upcoming crossovers (like avengers 5 and 6), they could also participate in other projects, whether from the X-Men universe or others. And Shawn Levy knows it.

Deadpool and Spider-Man?

One of the funniest duos that the Mercenary Gobber has had in the comics has been formed with the friendly arachnid neighbor, to the point that their union has its own name: SpideyPool. So the idea of seeing Reynolds and Tom Holland on some adventure together doesn’t seem crazy.

Speaking with Total Film Magazine, the director of the next MCU film confessed that he would love to bring that duo to the screen:

“The thing about Deadpool is that I think he makes everything more interesting because of his boldness. But wow, I’d love to see Deadpool and Spidey. That’s a movie I would love to do. I feel like Tom Holland would run circles around everyone else.”

For now, there is nothing official regarding Levy’s future plans at Marvel Studios, although he is one of the great candidates to take charge of the next Avengers films. For his part, Holland will dress up as Peter Parker again in Spider-Man 4which does not have a director yet.
