Where does ‘Fantastic Four’ take place?

In a recent interview for ‘The Official Marvel Podcast’, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige provided new updates on the upcoming ‘Fantastic Four’ movie.

One of the pieces of information he dropped is in relation to the film’s location in the UCM chronology, and it seems that fans’ suspicions are confirmed. As a result of the posters shown, fans realized that the retro style suggested that the plot of the film would be set in the 1960s, the decade in which the Marvel comic series began.

Feige himself commented on the keen eye of the fans and hinted that they might be right with their suspicions, without fully confirming the chronological location of the film.

“Yeah, yeah, very much so. It’s a period. There were a lot of smart people who noticed that that cityscape didn’t exactly look like the New York that we know, or that existed in the ’60s in our world. Those are smart observations, I would say,” Feige said.

Who are the members of the ‘Fantastic Four’ cast?

The cast of ‘Fantastic Four’ has generated great expectation. Pedro Pascal will play Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic), the group’s leader with the ability to stretch his body to incredible levels. Vanessa Kirby will play Sue Storm (Invisible Woman), who can turn invisible and generate force fields.

Joseph Quinn will play Johnny Storm (Human Torch), capable of engulfing himself in flames and flying, while Ebon Moss-Bachrach will play Ben Grimm (The Thing).

Apart from the protagonists, Julia Garner will play Silver Surfer and Ralph Ineson will play Galactus, the central villain of this installment. Galactus, a cosmic entity of immense power known as the Devourer of Worlds, will appear for the first time in issue #48 of the comic (1966), created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. Other cast members include John Malkovich, Natasha Lyonne and Paul Walter Hauser in unspecified roles.

In an interview with TMD, Ralph Ineson expressed his excitement to learn more about Galactus’ role in the next installment of ‘Fantastic Four’. “I’m not someone who knows all of Marvel history. My son is an expert. He’s been teaching me for the last few months. I read the script and thought, This is great. I’m happy to be a part of this huge, absolutely crazy world. It’s Galactus man. There’s a lot to be excited about,” Ineson said.
