David Gilmour opens up about bringing Pink Floyd back with holograms — Futuro Chile

Pink Floyd is one of the most legendary bands to have graced the planet. However, a reunion of the surviving members today seems very difficult to happen. Despite that, another alternative to this arises, which, although not ideal, could partially satisfy the fans’ hunger.

We are referring to a show based on holograms, which has recently been considered by David Gilmour himself. This, in reference to ABBA’s successful return in this format.

In a new interview with Uncut, the legendary guitarist and composer revealed that he was invited along with his wife, writer Polly Samson, to one of the dates given by the Swedish pop group.

“If you’re a die-hard ABBA fan, you might like it,” he said. Gilmour. In that sense, he commented that “The images seemed good to me, but they would never convince me that they were real. “If you’re in the mosh pit part and all that stuff happens, it’s probably cool.”

From that point on, he stated: “The best moment for me was when the band played a song live on their own,” he mentioned, referring to the track “Does Your Mother Know?”.

Thus, when asked if returning in hologram format is a possibility today or in the future for Pink Floyd, David Gilmour responded that only “If someone came with all the money and all the brilliant ideas.”

“Then, once we have agreed to a very, very difficult and onerous set of conditions – I would say: Yes, okay.”

Holograms: the future of music?

Thus, apparently this kind of technology is becoming inevitable in the world of music. It’s not like it’s something new either, but more and more artists are opting for the aforementioned resource; Kiss being the most recent band.

After the end of the group in 2023, it wouldn’t be long until we see Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley and company on stage again, but as holograms. What’s more: during April, the Kiss catalog and brand were acquired by Pophouse Entertainment, the company that carried out the voyage from Abba.
