It all happened in Brasilia, more precisely in the Opera Hall, where Dickinson performed on April 27 as part of her tour to present the album The Mandrake Project. There, during the show, she began coughing due to the presence of smoke.
In a video uploaded to YouTube, the musician apologizes for coughing and accuses smokers:
“I apologize for coughing. Some of you motherfuckers are smoking, okay? I can’t sing if they’re going to smoke, Tanya’s coughing, I’m coughing, my fucking wife is back there coughing. It’s disgusting. But if you want to be gross, do it outside. My throat has work to do. They paid good money to hear me sing, not to cough, okay?”
What really happened
According to The Metal Circus, the organization of the show reported that the incident was caused by the accidental explosion of an electronic cigarette that was in the possession of a fan. “The chemical from the accessory dispersed and created symptoms similar to those of pepper spray. The medical team on duty at the event stated that those treated did not present symptoms caused by the pepper spray, such as eye irritation, watery eyes, swelling or disorientation, and that only throat irritation was observed.”
