Open call ‘Territorios al Aire’ to continue strengthening community radio stations in Colombia

The ICT Ministry ratifies its commitment to strengthening the country’s community radio stations with the opening of the second version of the call for ‘Territories on the Air’, an initiative in which the Ministry of Cultures, Arts and Knowledge also participates. Those interested can enter the Ministry’s website today to learn more details.

Supporting community radio stations is vital to strengthening the social fabric of our communities. These spaces not only encourage diversity and dialogue, but also play a crucial role in educating and entertaining communities. By investing in these stations, we are investing in more inclusive and representative communication, which truly gives a voice to all sectors of our society.“said the ICT Minister, Mauricio Lizcano (@MauricioLizcano).

Territories on the Air‘ is aimed at community stations, with the aim of strengthening their programming schedules through training and sound production, which will allow them to continue narrating the country from the regions.

From the National Government we consider that community radio stations, more than broadcasters, are mediators and protagonists of local culture. In that sense, community radio stations, their managers, networks and creators, are ‘caretakers of the diversity of life’, in line with the approaches of the National Culture Plan 2024-2038. We invite the creators and managers of community radio stations from all over the country to apply for this call, formulate projects in tune with their territories and strengthen their role as key actors in the construction of a culture for the care of the diversity of life“said the Minister of Cultures, Juan David Correa.

To fulfill its mission, the call has two fundamental components for community radio stations. The first is the training process, where workshops and training will be offered to expand knowledge, through modules with relevant topics such as specialized sound production, country narratives, popular economies and digital proposal for the circulation of content.

The second component is the production of sound content, where resources will be allocated to the benefiting stations, for the production, post-production and delivery of final products.

The call will be divided into five categories so that community stations can build diverse and innovative content that will enrich their programming schedules:

Category 1: Sound fiction

Category 2: Radio journalism

Category 3: Innovative formats of live radio or extramural radio

Category 4: Sound experimentation

Category 5: Collaborative content production

Registration date for categories 1 and 2:

From May 6 until 5:00 pm on May 27.

Registration date categories 3, 4 and 5:
