The senator for Córdoba of the PRO, Carmen Álvarez Rivero, member of the General Legislation Commission, expressed her optimism about the approval of the Bases Law and the fiscal package in the Upper House.
In an interview with Chain 3highlighted that “we need to unblock Argentina” and that “the weight of the governors is much greater than in previous years”, which radically changes the decisions in the Senate.
“We senators are not like we used to be, self-employed people with a party seal. Now it is much more organized,” he stated.

Regarding the current legislative debate, Álvarez Rivero maintained that there is an opportunity to make a profound cultural change and appeal to values related to work and education. Furthermore, he highlighted that Argentina has more than 40% poverty and considers that this law is an opportunity to reverse that situation.
“With Milei we have a gigantic opportunity for change,” he stressed.

Finally, faced with the attempt by the Kirchnerist Union for the Homeland bloc to delay or reverse the law, Álvarez Rivero was optimistic: “It’s out.” And he asked his peers and the governors to “tune in with the reality of Argentina.”
