Ozzy Osbourne is clear about who has been the best guitarist he has played with throughout his long and fruitful career.
Ozzy Osbourne has named his partner Black Sabbath, Tony Iommi, as the best guitarist he has ever played with. During a preview of his new podcast The Madhouse ChroniclesOsbourne expressed to his friend, the guitarist and podcast co-host, Billy Morrisonthat Iommi “was and is the best fucking guitarist I’ve ever played with.”
An inimitable style
Morrison commented that the mark of a “truly iconic artist” is that others can play the same notes, but cannot fully replicate the sound. Osbourne added: “I’ve played ‘Paranoid,’ ‘Children of the Grave,’ and ‘War Pigs.’ Other guitarists play the notes, but it’s not the same. I find that a lot of American guitarists play too fast. “Tony Iommi, for some reason, is fucking great.”
Ozzy’s favorite solo guitarist
