This Monday, June 10, at approximately 10:55 am, a noticeable earthquake occurred in Santiago de Cuba -and according to information on social networks-, in other provinces in eastern Cuba.

According to the first official reports, he had a magnitude of 4.3 on the Richter scale and was located seven km southeast of Santiago de Cuba.

Dr. C Enrique Arango, Head of the National Seismological Service, reported in his profile on the social network Facebook that he was “located in the coordinates 19.95 degrees north latitude and -75.83 degrees west longitude, at a depth of 25.5 km.”

The specialist continued saying that “so far they have received reports of perceptibility in the city of Santiago de Cuba and in several locations in the provinces of Santiago de Cuba, Guantánamo, Granma and Holguín. At the time of reporting, no material or human damage has been reported.”
