Added to the criticism coming from the opposition was that of the former presidential candidate and founder of the Republican Party, José Antonio Kast, who stated that President Boric was on a “study tour” in Europe together with ministers of state and other authorities.

In response to these criticisms, the Minister of Justice, Luis Corderodefended the presidential tour and attributed Kast’s comments to “ignorance” and “inexperience” in the Government. “It seems to me that it is an expression resulting from ignorance, probably from a lack of executive and government experience, which prevents him from understanding what presidential tours are,” said Cordero.
