Manuel Marrero Cruz, member of the Political Bureau and Prime Minister of Cuba, advocated this Thursday for the improvement of services and the creation of capacities for local development, during a tour of sites of economic and social interest in the Holguín municipality of Gibara.

At the Caletones camping base, a work under construction, he highlighted the relevance of quality in the completion and the expansion of offers to national and foreign visitors among the options for the next summer season.

He also pointed out the delays in the investment process and the importance of paying attention to the comfort of the rooms and the development of commercial alternatives such as day trips and the rental of tents, which can be extended to neighboring facilities.

On the other hand, in the new headquarters of the Gustavo Aldereguía Lima Hospital, within the priorities of the Public Health sector, he urged to accelerate the construction work of the civil structure, whose execution is at 90 percent, and to house close to the works to workers to reduce fuel and transportation costs.

He also indicated the need to advance the completion of the guard corps and external consultations, one of the services in greatest demand by the population, whose inauguration is scheduled for next July 26.

During the day, the head of Government exchanged with members of the Municipal Administration Council, he was interested in the investments in execution, the creation of job offers, the transformation of vulnerable neighborhoods and the care of high-risk pregnant women.

Javier Pérez Balmaseda, mayor of that territory, specified during the meeting the potential of the town in terms of food production, the chain with new economic actors, the satisfaction of the demand for grains, the distribution of medicines, among other topics. .

Marrero Cruz mentioned among the priorities the promotion of attention to vulnerable sectors, the use of idle lands for agriculture, the reduction of food prices and the expansion of basic services to the population.

He also defended the revitalization of public spaces, the completion of project investments and the search for local solutions aimed at improving the quality of life of the inhabitants of the coastal territory.

Participating in the tour were Joel Queipo Ruiz, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and first secretary in the province, Manuel Francisco Hernández Aguilera, governor of Holguín; Sonia Chacón, deputy to the National Assembly of People’s Power, among other political and government authorities.
