Brazil tied 0-0 against Costa Rica for the first date of Group D of the Copa América 2024 at the SoFi Stadium in California, United States. The team led by Gustavo Alfaro gave the big surprise and added a point against Canarinha, who complained about Marquinhos’ disallowed goal in the first half.

After the game, the Argentine coach spoke at a press conference and revealed what he told his players at halftime after the historic draw against Scratch. “One of the things I said to them in the first one was ‘do you want me to tell you the truth or lie to you?’ When they told me, tell the truth, I answered ‘if we continue playing like this, we will most likely lose the game.’‘”.

And, in that sense, he added: “’If we do not manage to push Brazil back, it is most likely that we will not be able to last 90 minutes defensively. Brazil submitting you is likely because they have the ability to do so, but pushing them back is what we needed to do.”he explained.

At 29 minutes of the first half, Raphina took a free kick from the left side, Rodrygo headed the ball to Marquinhos, who came in at the far post to push the ball. However, the VAR reviewed the play and saw that the PSG footballer from France was ahead.
