
The professionals of the Gregorio Marañón hospital, public center of the Community of Madrid, have wanted to celebrate the Book day with all their patients. To do this, they have given them a mariapaginas, designed by the adolescents of the psychiatry unit, which has reached them in their food tray. Books have also been distributed in different units from the center where patients spend more time. For their part, admitted children have tribute to Gloria Fuertes reciting their poems, and the day has closed with a piano concert in the Oncology building.
To celebrate the Book Day, the professionals of the Gregorio Marañón hospital have mobilized to get the literature to all patients in the center. Thus, both the Humanization Commission and the Subdirectorate of Management and General Services have scheduled a series of actions throughout the day so that the books cover the entire Marañón.
With the intention of commemorating such a special day, in all food trays patients have received a very special mariapáginas, designed by hospital psychiatry adolescents, with the aim that all admitted people think that literature can also accompany them in their process and even help them in their well -being and recovery.
-In addition, with the collaboration of Espasa, Tusquets and Maeva publishers, books have been distributed to patients who usually face chronic diseases, longer income or prolonged processes for recovery. Therefore, specimens have been delivered in the areas of hemodialysis, geriatrics, psychiatry and oncohematology. Likewise, there has been a detail with admitted children, giving special books for the little ones at the Pediatrics plant.
And they, the little patients of the Gregorio Marañón hospital have decided to pay tribute, on such a special day, to one of the great children’s poets: Gloria Fuertes. Thus, in this video they can be seen from their rooms and treatment beds where they have recited the verses of several of their poems, putting voice to some texts in which they have discovered, from the particular vision of the poet, the elements that have in the face, the peculiarities of Doña Pitu Puturra, and the virtues of laughter.
In addition, to finish the celebrations, at half past six in the afternoon a small piano concert has been organized at the main entrance of the Marañón Oncology building. This action dedicated to patients and relatives is in charge of the renowned pianist Sergio Sújar.
