The IAG group, owner of British Airways and Iberia, announced a reinforcement of its fleet with 71 aircraft, between new orders and options of options, distributed almost equitable between Boeing and Airbus.
This expansion “underlines our commitment to strengthen the brands of our airlines and to improve our proposal for customers,” said Luis Gallego, general director of IAG.
He also said that “a sustained demand for air transport” is still observed despite the “macroeconomic uncertainty” from the return to the power of US President Donald Trump, who imposed tariffs worldwide and everywhere, including the aeronautical sector.
The group indicated that initially, in March, it had exercised options for 12 Airbus A350 and 6 Boeing 777, that is, a total of 18 aircraft.

-He also announced two new orders: 21 Airbus A330-900neo for 7,800 million dollars at the price of catalog and 32 Boeing 787-10 for 12.7 billion dollars.
IAG claimed to have negotiated “a substantial discount” in each order, without specifying the amount.
In total the group made orders of 38 Boeing aircraft and 33 Airbus.
