Government drives the autonomy of mothers with formationEntrepreneurship and well -being integral
Pereira, May 9, 2025. Within the framework of its commitment to the well -being and integral development of the department’s mothers, the Risaralda Government has implemented multiple strategies to promote economic autonomy, provide life tools and guarantee spaces for attention and training, attending the guideline of the governor Juan Diego Patiño Ochoa, to empower women Risaraldenses.
One of the most prominent initiatives is the women’s leadership school, in which 272 mothers of the 14 municipalities of the department have been trained on issues such as preparation, gender training and leadership.
This formation, taught in the Empowered Women’s House, has allowed many of these women to begin their own ventures, prioritizing their dreams and personal goals.
Participation spaces
In recognition of their effort, 15 of these mothers were benefited with incentives for the strengthening of their businesses. In addition, from the Secretariat of Women, family and Social Development, spaces for participation in entrepreneurship fairs have been generated, such as the recent women like you, in which 66 mothers head of household exhibited their products in the Civic Plaza Ciudad Victoria, in a day that also had local music and talent.
In parallel, 41 women have received personalized advice on issues such as packaging, brand, costs, social networks, investment plan and portfolio of services, while 20 mothers have participated in fairs in articulation with the Cooperative University of Colombia and the University of the Americas, expanding their commercialization and learning opportunities.
Another relevant milestone is the participation of 10 mothers of the department (from Pereira, Dosquebradas, Santa Rosa, Marseille and Quinchía) in the World Woman Congress, which will be held in August in Popayán.
These women are currently in business training with the World Women’s Foundation, preparing to participate in activities as an academic forum, networkingCommercial Fair and the Leonor Melo de Velasco Prize.
Complementary formative processes
-As for complementary training processes, 35 women have participated in workshops on costs, prices and digital signature. Soon, 60 mothers will access the Funda Funda workshop with the SENA, as well as training in special tax regime (RTE) with the DIAN and the mayor of Dosquebradas.
In addition to the training and economic impulse, the integral well -being of Risaraldenses mothers has been guaranteed, providing legal accompaniment and psychosocial care to 61 women, as part of the Comprehensive Care Policy promoted by the Departmental Administration.
Additionally, projects are being developed that, although they are not directly linked to the maternal figure, contribute to improving the daily life of many women’s head, especially in rural and vulnerable areas. This was explained by Ana Lucía Córdoba, Secretary of Women, Family and Social Development:
A CDI and multipurpose classrooms
“We have two processes that, although it is true, are not directly related to the entire issue of mothers, they will help them improve their role in everyday life. One of them is the projected CDI for the corregimiento of Caimalito, where approximately 300 boys and girls are sought to impact. We know that most of these children belong to homes where they are head of the family, and that is why this initiative is so important.
The same happens in the IRRA district, in Quinchía, where, in articulation with the Mayor’s Office, the ICBF and the Risaralda governorate, efforts are being advanced to build multipurpose classrooms.
These classrooms will benefit the children of working women, especially from the mining sector, who often should leave their children in passage or without support homes.
In these classrooms, the ICBF will provide a service under the institutional modality, directly benefiting the Risaraldense childhood and, of course, very specially to the department’s mothers. ”
Finally, Ana Lucía Córdoba stressed that “Mother’s Day is not limited to a date in the calendar; they are 365 days a year. We are women, we are mothers, we are workers, and we are women who must give a lot of light to our family nucleus, especially our children in the department of Risaralda.”
The Risaralda governorate thus reaffirms its commitment to female empowerment, promoting concrete actions so that each mother has the necessary tools to transform their life, achieve financial autonomy and fully exercise their rights.
