The transition of RAP Caribe Towards a Territorial Entity (RET) will take a new step this Friday in the city of Barranquilla during the Great Caribbean Assemblyin which it is intended to guarantee this regionalization process by approval of the Ordinances of the Departmental Assembly.

During this protocol act, which will be chaired by the Governor Eduardo Summer, The president of Congress, Efraín Cepeda will also participate; Interior Minister Armando Benedetti; The president of the House of Representatives, Jaime Raúl Salamanca, members of the Academy, of the other departments and the other governors of the Caribbean region.
In the first instance, the Regional Procurator of the Republic, Gregorio Eljach Pacheco, and the Vice Counter of the Republic, Carlos Mario Zuluaga, will address the importance of the regional level and the closure of gaps for the Caribbean development.
Subsequently, the presentation of the ordinances by the presidents of the Departmental Assemblies and the Executive Director of Confdica will be made, and in turn a protocol delivery of the same by the governors and presidents of the assemblies to the representatives of the national Government and Congress of the Republic present, as a symbol of regional unity.
Regarding this, Jesús Pérez, manager of the Caribbean Rap, explained that so far five ordinances have been approved in the prior to this event.
“The exercise is still in progress, the ordinances of Córdoba, Atlántico, Sucre, La Guajira, and Bolívar have already been approved. However, we hope that the sixth will be approved this Thursday, which would be that of Cesar, while for second debate is Magdalena that will be done the other week,” he said.
In that sense, Pérez was clear that “this is a protocol act that aims to show the national unity for the Regionalizationwhich we take very seriously, so we invite everyone to supply the steps that are needed. ”
It should be noted that the following stages of the process consist of a concept of the Territorial Planning Commission and the procedure and approval of the Organic Law of the RET Caribe, which must be carried out between June 2025 and March 2026. On this date the Great referendum of the regions.
