Saná, May 6 (EFE) .- A high position Hutí said Tuesday that Yemen rebels will continue with the attacks against Israel in solidarity with the Palestinians of the Gaza Strip despite the newly announced agreement of Alto El Fuego with the United States mediated by Oman.
“There will be no withdrawal from support to Gaza, regardless of the cost, and what has happened shows that our attacks are painful and will continue,” Mahdi told the Mashat, head of the Supreme Political Council Hutí, to the SABA news agency, controlled by the insurgents.
In his statements to Saba, Al Mashat did not admit, nor denied, nor did he refer directly to a high -fire agreement with the United States, despite the announcement of US President, Donald Trump, and the statement of the Oman Foreign Ministry confirming the truce pact consolidated by his mediation.
Al Mashat warned that Israel would face severe consequences for their actions both in the Palestinian enclave and for the bombings that on this day left at least three dead and about thirty injured in different parts of Saná, the capital of Yemen, among which is the international airport and a cement factory.
“The aggressor will realize that the price he will pay is exorbitant, and no aggression will dissuade us from our fair decision to support our brothers in Palestine until the aggression ceases and the siege is raised to Gaza,” he said.
Al Mashat addressed a direct message to the Israelis: “To all Zionists from now on: remain in their shelters or return to their countries of origin immediately, since their failed government can no longer protect them.”
The outstanding member of the Supreme Political Council Hutí Mohamed Ali al Huti commented on the announcement of the American president to stop military operations in Yemen.
“Trump’s announcement to stop the US aggression against Yemen will be evaluated first on the ground,” the Huti told an X publication.
He described that decision as a “victory” that highlights the distancing of the United States with respect to Israel and criticized the Israeli prime minister, Benjamín Netanyahu, asking for his resignation.
On the other hand, the administration in the United States clarified that the high fire with the hutis, announced on Tuesday, is limited to operations in the Red Sea, where freedom of navigation and commercial flow were in danger due to the offensive of these rebels in the area.
The state department spokeswoman, Tammy Bruce, specified that the agreement “is the Red Sea” and refused to comment on a possible similar pact between Yemenis and Israel rebels. EFE
