From the Aysén Health Service they invited the community to go to the vaccination centers deployed in the territory.
Given the imminent increase in respiratory viruses during the next weeks, the Aysén Health Service (SSA) called on the community to vaccinate against influenza and COVID-19 to reduce its consequences.
From the SSA they warned that influenza and COVID-19 can have serious consequences, especially for older adults, children and people with pre-existing diseases: “An increase in circulation of the influenza virus is expected between the end of April and early May,” they added.
Objective groups
The Epidemiology team member of the Aysén Health Service, Karla Montenegro, stressed that the vaccine is safe and effective.
“It is the best tool to avoid serious and serious complications, even death in the most vulnerable groups. There are all health centers with vaccination and can approach if people correspond to an target group, such as chronic people, over 65, people who care for older adults, as well as public and private health personnel,” Montenegro said.
Aviar influenza
The member of the Epidemiology team of the SSA also indicated that regarding the worldwide increase in avian influenza, they can also approach the poultry workers.
In addition, he mentioned that vaccination strategies are also deployed in schools from first to fifth basic.
Both vaccines are part of the National Immunization Plan and help strengthen public health, reducing serious symptoms, hospitalizations and community transmission.
