New details were known by the Metropolitan Police of Cartagena of the events that occurred on the morning of this Sunday, May 4 in the Alto Bosque neighborhood, just in front of the Fernando de la Vega educational institution, and that left two injured, including an active patrol of that institution.
The Metropolitan confirmed that, in effect, the patrol, which was in a motorcycle and civilian to her workplace, was approached by two criminals as soon as she left her residence. In the middle of the struggle, the patrol was shot twice, but still managed to disarm one of the criminals, to hurt him with the subject’s own firearm and help in his capture.
“Today, May 4, being 7:45 am, in the Alto Bosque neighborhood, a police patrol was about to leave his residence towards his workplace when he was approached by a motorcycle subject who allegedly wanted to steal a chain.

“In the struggle, the official, who was in a civil suit, received impacts on one arm and leg, and according to her story, with the same aggressor weapon managed to make several shots to the criminal,” explains the Metropolitan, after interviewing the patrol in the clinic where he is receiving medical attention.
“The official is receiving medical care in a hospital and fortunately is out of danger,” says the report.
Police confirmed that a rapid reaction managed to locate the alleged responsible for the assault and “at the moment the corresponding legal process is advanced to be presented to the authorities.”
“The seized firearm, as well as the motorcycle on which the alleged assailant was transported, will be made available to the Attorney General’s Office,” says the police report.
