A judge legalized the capture of Freddy Castellanosthe professor who was denounced by the Abuse of several children from a garden of the ICBF, located in the town of San Cristóbal, in southern Bogotá.
The man, who worked in the CANADÁ CHILDREN’S HOME HEADQUARTERS Fhe had been arrested on the morning of this May 6 after the families of at least eight minors had raised the complaints before the corresponding agencies.

Castellanos was presented to a judge on Tuesday afternoon, following the deadlines that the Prosecutor’s Office had to justify his arrest.
The judge endorsed the capture and ordered that the defendant remain in custody while the following audiences that were scheduled for May 7 are held. They will be charged with the charges and, in addition, it will be asked to be sent to a prison center.
The man hopes to impute him for the following crimes, according to the Prosecutor’s Office:
- Abusive sexual act with under 14 years
- Violent carnal access with under 14 years.

From the Colombian Criminal Code, The abusive sexual act with children can correct a prison sentence between nine and 13 years old, while carnal access is punished with a prison from 12 to 20 years.

The mother of another of the minors, meanwhile, requested actions of the Colombian family Welfare Institute (ICBF): “This is the consequence of the lack of control over entities. (…) (we ask for) repair actions. They have not yet told us anything.”
“Hopefully, really, the whole weight of the law falls on it,” added another family.

The ICBF highlighted the work of the Prosecutor’s Office that allowed Freddy Castellanos to capture to be taken before a judge.
“The entity continues to provide the accompaniment and support of the children already their families through specialized interdisciplinary technical team, as well as the activation of the routes with the family defenders attached to the Zonal Center of San Cristóbal,” he said.
He also reported that, according to the competencies of the ICBF, sanctioning and disciplinary processes were opened against those in charge of the garden administration.

“We ratify the commitment to collaborate with the control entities within the framework of the inquiries and investigations that are carried out in front of the facts. We advance in the consolidation of the mechanism for the restoration of the service in different conditions and without intermediation of operators,” he added.
The entity called on the community to report cases of abuse or violence against children through line 141 or the emergency line 123.
