During his speech at the Munich leaders meeting in Washington, American vice president JD Vance declared Russia “Ask too” To reach an agreement that puts a stop on fire and end to war in Ukraine, where his words reflected a growing discomfort in the Trump administration in the face of the conditions imposed by Moscow and mark a possible turn in rhetoric towards a stronger position against the Kremlin.
According to the vice president, this negative evidence that the Kremlin intends to prevent Ukraine from being militarily restructured in the midst of the conflict, but, although Washington does not yet threaten with sanctions, Vance stressed that the administration is willing to increase the pressure if Russia remains inflexible.
Direct dialogue and growing international pressure
The vice president clarified that the priority of the White House is that both parties feel dialogue without intermediaries: “We would like both Russians and Ukrainians to reach an agreement on some basic guidelines to sit down to dialogue”he said, although he added that he is still not pessimistic about the possibility of a diplomatic exit, but admitted that the distance between the positions of kyiv and Moscow remains considerable.
