After passing through Imola and Monte Carlo, the Formula 1 He traveled to Montreal before diving into his part of the European season for almost three months. And for those races, Max Verstappen has introduced a special helmet design.
“This helmet certainly means a lot to me,” explains Verstappen himself in the video in which he presents the design on his social networks. “In Europe there are some special races with many fans wearing orange, that’s why I’ll wear this one.”
“As you can see in the details on the helmet, you see the fans in the background. It’s a tribute to all the fan support I get. I’ve kept it very, very orange, and very bright so you can see it. I think it came out really cool. I hope you like it too.”
In addition to wearing it himself, Verstappen has put 1:4 and 1:2 miniature versions for sale (a quarter of the real size and half of the real size respectively) on his website. “Who knows, maybe if you’re on the track this year, you could wear it next year too! If you want one, go to Verstappen.com,” says the driver. The price of Verstappen’s helmet at 1:4 is 79.95 euros and the 1:2 model is worth €179.95.
With this helmet, as the three-time world champion explained, he will pay tribute to the orange tide that will color the stands of the circuits that come next on the calendar. In these months, F1 will visit Barcelona, Austria, Silverstone, the Hungaroring, Spa-Francorchamps (in Belgiumcountry in which he was born), Zandvoort in his Netherlands and Monza.
This Verstappen helmet design for the European races will be the third of the year 2024, after the one he used in Miami and which he will use in the other two United States Grand Prix (Las Vegas and Austin) and the design he has worn in most of the races.
After nine races, Verstappen reaches the most European part of the season as the outstanding leader of the drivers’ world championship, with 194 points, 56 more than his closest pursuer, Charles Leclerc, after having won six races (66.6% of those contested)
