The calendar proposed by Formula E for the next season with 17 races was approved at a meeting of the FIA ​​World Motor Council on Tuesday, with 11 different destinations.

The Homestead-Miami Speedway, which has hosted NASCAR and IMSA races, will become the fifth different venue used for a Formula E race in the US, following previous visits to a special street circuit in Miami, Long Beach, New York and, most recently, Portland.

The American race will be held on April 12 and will take place on most of the infield track of homesteadas well as in a part of the oval.

“We think it’s a very good circuit, very suitable for our style of racing,” Formula E chief executive Jeff Dodds told Motorsport.com.

“The name Miami that comes with it is a big draw, maybe even bigger than cities like Portland.”

Another of the new venues on the Formula E calendar is scheduled to open a month earlier, on March 8, although it is currently still listed as TBD as it has not been officially announced by the category, but Motorsport.com understands that it is a race in Thailand.

The season will start in Sao Paulo on December 7so it will be the first time since 2019-20 that the same campaign will span two calendar years.

The second event will be in Mexico City (January 11), before traveling to the double event in Saudi Arabia, although the exact place where it will be run on February 14 and 15 has not yet been specified.

So much Monaco as Tokyo, will premiere as double weekends on May 3 and 4 and on May 17 and 18, respectively.

After running in Shanghai This year, Formula E will once again hold two races between May 31 and June 1 in Chinese territory, before returning to Indonesia after his one-year absence to race in Jakarta on June 21.

The season will end with two races in Berlin (July 12-13) and London (July 26-27), but the first of them is expected to coincide with another round of the World Endurance Championship, as already happened in 2024, which could be a problem for several drivers.

In the calendar highlights the absence of a race in Italyas the Misano World Circuit has been removed from the plans for the all-electric single-seater category after just one year.

“Continuing with our DNA view, three-quarters of our races will be on road courses or street circuits,” added Dodds.

“It’s a great mix. Many of the comments we receive from the teams, manufacturers, and fans, is that they want to continue with a calendar like this,” he acknowledged.
