Dimayor makes a drastic decision against Atlético Bucaramanga, a few days before the final against Santa Fe

Atlético Bucaramanga won 1-0 against Santa Fe last Saturday, June 8, at the Alfonso López stadium in the first leg of the final of the BetPlay 2024 League. Freddy Hinestroza scored the goal that keeps the fans with great enthusiasm of the leopard for what will be the return match in Bogotá.

Due to the above, the Disciplinary Committee confirmed that Bucaramanga will not be able to play for three dates at the Alfonso López stadium and, in addition, will have to pay a heavy financial fine.

“Sanction Club Atlético Bucaramanga SA (“Bucaramanga”) with three (3) dates of total suspension of the place and fine of thirteen million six hundred fifty thousand ($13,650,000) for incurring the infraction described in sections 1, 4.5, 6, 7 and 8 of article 84 of the CDU of the FCF; for the events that occurred in the match played in the Final First Leg of the League,” the bulletin says.

“The inappropriate behavior of spectators consisting of the use of flammable objects and invasion of the playing field affected the normal development of the match, as well as damaged the facilities of the sports venue. Facts that were caused by followers of the local Club, according to the official reports of the match,” he added.

Beyond the sanction against them, for now the players are focused and with their minds set on what will be the definition of the title at the El Campín stadium, in the city of Bogotá.

If they come back in the game and manage to beat those led by Venezuelan Rafael Dudamel, Santa Fe would achieve its tenth star in Colombia, after those achieved in 1948, 1958, 1960, 1966, 1971, 1975, 2012-I, 2014-II and 2016-II.
