Floyd Mayweather confirms fight in Mexico City against John Gotti III | TUDN Boxing

Floyd Mayweather Jr. ended the uncertainty and finally announced their fight in the Mexico City in view of John Gotti IIIa rival that was not originally in ‘Money’s plans.

Mayweather will face Gotti next Saturday August 24 of 2024 in the CDMX Arena. The pre-sale dates to purchase tickets and the price of these have not yet been confirmed.

It remains to be confirmed whether Mayweather will face Gotti III in an exhibition fight or if it will be under the rules of professional boxing, the number of rounds and the card that would give life to the rest of the boxing evening, the first for Floyd on Mexican soil.

Originally, the organization of the fight had in mind facing Mayweather with Victor Ortizan old acquaintance of ‘Money’ whom he faced when he was still an active professional boxer and whose victory is one of the most controversial in the career of the nicknamed ‘Money’.

It will be the second time that Floyd Mayweather and John Gotti III face each other as part of an unofficial event.

It should be remembered that in June 2023, the boxer and the mixed martial arts fighter faced each other at the FLA Live Arena in Sunrise, Florida, United States. The fight did not conclude the scheduled 10 rounds, since in the sixth round, referee Kenny Bayless stopped the fight due to excessive insults between both fighters.

The unforeseen stop caused annoyance in Gotti, who continued fighting even though the referee tried to stop him. His reaction generated a brawl in the ring after the corners of both sides, police and even Mayweather’s bodyguards intervened in the chaos.
