Recently, Thiago Messi participated in a youth tournament with the Inter Miami Sub 12 and in that context gave an interview along with several of his teammates, one of whom told him in the middle of the note that he is a fan of the real Madrid. The revelation took the son of the captain of the Argentine national team by surprise and his reaction went viral on social networks in the last few hours.
The interview was conducted by journalist José Ramón de la Morena for the Foundation that bears his name and which was involved in the youth competition that was organized by La Liga of Spain in the North American city of Orlando. Along with the eldest of the Messi brothers was also Luis Suárez’s son, Benjamín, and two other friends from the division, Roger Llaurado from Colombia and Eleazar Guevara from Venezuela, in addition to the team’s coach, the Spanish Diego García.
In that context, one of the boys was asked about the club he sympathizes with. “I’m from Madrid,” he responded. Logically taking into account Lionel Messi’s history with Barcelona, the journalist turned his gaze to Thiago and asked him: “How about?”. Then, the son of Leo and Antonela Roccuzzo laughed and spoke to his friend: “You didn’t say anything to me”.
After the joke, Thiago said that he has many other friends who are fans of the game. Meringue. In the middle of the round of questions, he also highlighted the young man from Barcelona Lamine Yamal as one of his favorite players and chose Erling Haaland above Kylan Mbappé.
Another moment of the note that resonated on the networks was regarding his conviction of playing for the Argentine national team if one day he became a footballer. “With the one from Argentina… I was born in Spain, yes. I don’t think they can convince me.”he said when the reporter joked about the intention to persuade him to wear the Spanish national team shirt.
“They are cracks, an attitude of ten, very good teammates, they work very hard to improve every day. “They are very good footballers, but above all they are very good people, very good teammates,” the coach praised both Thiago and Suárez’s son.
