More than 10 Colombian referees were removed from the panel of judges of the Arbitration Commission of the Colombian Football Federation for the second half of 2024 and they assure that some left because they were allegedly involved with gambling issues.
On the morning of this Saturday, June 22, the news was announced that shakes Colombian professional football and calls into question the refereeing work in our country.

Several Colombian soccer referees expelled
The aforementioned account announced in the first instance that “Referee Jorge Duarte will NOT be taken into account on the professional team anymore, he has already been removed from the panel, he will not direct a professional soccer match EVER AGAIN.”.
Right there, it was later ruled that: “Referee Eder Vergara was removed from the professional panel, he will not direct a professional match EVER AGAIN, a referee who even directed a professional soccer final, allegedly involved in betting”. The topic of betting has already been mentioned here.
This information about the departure of the judges was supported by a man with knowledge of the facts such as José Borda, former professional referee and current arbitration analyst who confirmed the expulsion of 15 judges.
“THEY TOOK 15 REFEREES. For the Colombian League 2024-II, the Referees Commission removed 15 judges from the panel, including centre-backs, assistants, VAR and AVAR’S. To save his position, Machado “sold” some of his protégés. It is the largest sweep of referees in the last 32 years”.
